Biography

Ching Yi is the Head of Department – Engineering, Science and Information Technology/Multimedia of the School of Foundation Studies in Swinburne Sarawak.

She is part of the team of the ‘Digital Technologies Seniors Program (DTSP)’. DTSP is a community program with Foundation Rolf Schnyder aimed to empower, mentor, and coach Seniors in Technology. In less than 3 months after it was officially launched in November 2021, DTSP has impacted more than 3,000 seniors worldwide. She had won an internal grant for DTSP.

Apart from the Seniors, Ching Yi is also passionate about Youth’s mental wellness and children’s safety. Ching Yi is the pioneer advisor of the Social Club in Swinburne Sarawak, which was formed in March 2020 during the first Movement Control Order (MCO). This club has been very active since then. Within 1 year, the club recruited 200 active members.

Ching Yi was also the mentor for Foundation students for one Nationwide competition (NMC 2021) and one International competition (MathStory) in 2021. One of the groups won a Second Prize in MathStory 2021.
