Equipping students with high-level professional skills, Swinburne's Master of Information Technology (MIT) is the perfect pathway for students who are planning a career in tech-based industries or as a career-boost for working adults.
Our programme blends coursework with industry-engaged projects. Only available in our Sarawak campus, choose from the industry-certified cybersecurity or data science specialisation, or study both!
And best of all, our computer science or ICT graduates are entitled to 1-semester exemption when they enrol into the programme.
We offer three exit points should you choose to conclude your programme halfway. Earn a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology after two semesters, a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology after three semesters or, complete the entire MIT programme after two years.
Our Data Science and Cybersecurity majors come with industry certifications, namely SAS and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Data Science; and Techforte Elite SOC certification for Cybersecurity.
Our staff are PhD holders with expert knowledge in a broad range of modern computer science fields. You will also get the support you need should you wish to progress into PhD after completing an applied research project in your final semester.
Book an appointment slot to meet our Education Counsellors either digitally or on-campus.
Important Notes:
In line with Swinburne’s long-term commitment in enhancing the campus experience for students, the university has embarked on phases of campus redevelopment since 2019.
By 2022, up to RM50 million will be invested into engineering and computing laboratories, research laboratories, teaching and learning spaces, student accommodation, the student hub and cafeteria, as well as the upgraded lobby and building foyer. This will further support student centred learning, enhance student welfare and encourage a balanced university life.
