KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus successfully held its Open Days on 23 and 24 March just after STPM results were released.
The event was a useful source of information-seeking and an interesting gathering for potential candidates and young students.
Along with students who had successfully completed the recent STPM, students as young as Grade 4 also came to seek information about the courses offered by Swinburne Sarawak, discipline trends and their future career pathways.
On both event days, lecturers and discipline leaders from the university’s various faculties were available to discuss and engage with the potential students. Therefore, students and other enquirers were able to gain first-hand information, clarification and insights on their future endeavours into further studies and career paths.
A Faculty Showcase was also held during the Open Days. Different faculties and schools came together with their inventions to present especially to the young learners. The participants received a glimpse of current world problems including food and health security, the necessity of renewable energy and green technology and so on. The participants were happy to engage in the activities that were available at the Faculty Showcase.
Visitors including applicants and prospective students accompanied by their parents and friends made this event even more colourful by creating a sense of belonging for all, which contributed to the success of the Open Days.
