Final Year Research Project Conference

The conference is an exciting showcase of final year students’ year-long research projects, which are essential for students’ professional preparation for their ensuing careers. The conference started at 8:30a.m. with Dean opening address and the students proceeded to their respective venues to deliver and showcase their work throughout the year. A total of 129 projects presented from Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Science. There are 121 projects from Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotic and Mechatronics Engineering and 8 posters presented by both Information and Technologies and Biotechnology students.

Guests from industry have been invited to attend the conference. Representatives from local companies such as JKR Sarawak, Sarawak Energy Berhad, Cahya Mata Sarawak, Taiyo Yuden, etc. came to view the students’ presentations. Their attendance at the conference and feedback on the students’ work provide insight and motivation to the aspiring engineers who are about to embark upon their professional careers. This is also an opportunity to explore further collaborations and strengthening ties between Swinburne Sarawak and our industry partners. It is usually held bi-annually on the final week of semester and this is the second one for 2018.
