Sarawak Digital Enabler Program lauded, brings positive impact to participants

KUCHING – The Sarawak Digital Enabler Program, a comprehensive training program co-organised by Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus and Sarawak E-Commerce Association (SECA), has emerged as a powerful platform for participants – predominantly entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners and executives from diverse industries.

This program offers participants an invaluable opportunity to elevate their digital skills under the tutelage of some of the brightest minds in the field.

Supported by Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) through the Business Empowerment and Recovery Fund (BizFund), this four-month program commenced with eight masterclasses in May 2023, encapsulating key aspects of digital entrepreneurship, e-commerce and social media content creation.

The program will now transition into a three-month mentorship phase, spanning from June through August 2023, allowing participants to further integrate and apply their newly acquired knowledge.

The Sarawak Digital Enabler Program stands out for its impressive roster of speakers, each a respected figure within their domain. Spearheading the enlightening first sessions on ideation, understanding customer pain points, developing value propositions and applying the business model canvas was Professor Brian Wong Kee Mun, Dean of Swinburne Sarawak’s Faculty of Business, Design and Arts.

Building upon this foundation, Dr Gabriel Wee Wei En, Research Leader in Business Innovation, entrepreneur, and a certified Google Analytics professional from the same faculty, delivered compelling sessions on market research and business data analytics. His inputs were instrumental in equipping participants with the ability to make data-driven business decisions.

Ms Jessica Lyn, boasting an impressive background in banking and consultancy, provided crucial insights into business proposal development and the art of pitching. Her expertise demystified the process of securing investor interest and effectively communicating business value.

Rounding out the training were invited international speakers from Zhejiang, China – Mr Hu Jun and Mr Wang Jiawei. As founders of the Pute Group, they brought a wealth of experience in TikTok, livestreaming and social media content creation. Their sessions were crucial in enabling participants to navigate the dynamic landscape of social media marketing and brand presence.

The curriculum, carefully designed to integrate these diverse topics, provided a holistic understanding of digital entrepreneurship. Participants have had the opportunity to comprehend the customer journey from ideation to engagement while mastering necessary digital tools and skills.

Given the overwhelming positive response and the significant impact the program has had so far, the Sarawak Digital Enabler Program is expected to continue influencing and equipping professionals with the essential skills for digital entrepreneurship, e-commerce and social media marketing.
