Pre-U Open Day at Swinburne Sarawak on 23 and 30 March

KUCHING – Course consultation, talk on scholarships and financial aid, student project displays and performances are among some of the highlights SPM graduates visiting the Pre-U Open Day at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus can look forward to on 23 and 30 March.

Swinburne Sarawak offers one-year foundation courses in business, design, engineering/science and IT/multimedia. These help to build the grounding SPM students need to progress to undergraduate studies.

The intake for foundation courses is 15 April. Those enrolling into the upcoming term will be able to proceed to degree studies by early next year.

Activity highlights on Open Day include a preview of the courses from foundation to undergraduate levels. This will be given by senior academics from 10:30am to 3:00pm on both Saturdays. Students and their parents are encouraged to attend so as to make better-informed decisions on the choice of study.

Those who are undecided on their career path may take a quick test. Based on the result, trained counselors from the university will guide them to the courses that may best suit them.

For information on financial assistance, PTPTN will give a talk at 11am on 23 and 30 March. Queries may also be directed to the scholarships and study loans booth managed by PTPTN, Yayasan Sarawak and Swinburne Sarawak.

A tour of the facilities on campus is available on request while a carnival organized by student clubs will take place on 30 March, giving visitors a glimpse of university life on and off the campus.

So as to obtain an offer of study when making an application, the applicants are advised to bring along their SPM result slip, birth certificate and identity card.

No application fee will be imposed during the event.
