I was working at another institution when I heard that Swinburne Sarawak was hiring academic staff. I was curious to find out what it would be like to work at an Australian educational institution.

When I first joined Swinburne Sarawak in 2000, we were all crammed into the same office at the old Centre for Modern Management (CMM) premises, while waiting to move into the Government Building next door. Back in those days, everyone knew one another very well, although we were from different departments. There was a strong camaraderie which remains my best memory.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet numerous people at Swinburne, both staff and students. Those experiences have shaped who I am today, for which I am grateful.

The university places a lot of emphasis on student experience. Any student who is keen on learning and self-development will find ample opportunities in a supportive environment here.

I hope that Swinburne Sarawak can be a supportive community that enables staff and students to achieve self-development and personal wellbeing.
