The conference is an exciting showcase of final year students’ year-long research projects, which are essential for students’ professional preparation for their ensuing careers. The event conducted twice a year on the final week of the semester, the first conference in 2019 was held on 31st May 2019 at Swinburne Sarawak campus to showcase final year students’ year-long research projects, which serve as a vital milestone to be achieved before the students boarding on their career path. The conference commenced at 8:30a.m. with Dean’s inspirational opening address after which the students proceeded to the respective venues to present their work for this one-day event. Among the 119 projects presented are the 112 projects contributed by students from various engineering disciplines which include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering and the seven posters presented by students from Information, Communication and Technologies.
The conference was made more fruitful with the participation of guests from industry who had provided valuable feedbacks and insights to the aspiring engineers for their personal and professional development. It is believed that further collaboration with the industry may be explored and the ties with the industry partners are fostered through the participation of representatives from local companies like Sarawak Energy Berhad, X-Fab Sarawak Sdn Bhd, and Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd.
