The Institution of Engineers Malaysia Swinburne Sarawak Student Section (IEM-SSSS) organised Ways to Write Quality Resume/Cover Letter Workshop to increase the awareness of writing a quality resume to get an interview.
Students are encouraged to join this talk as it benefits them in transforming the resume into a powerful tool in the job search. A well-written and visually pleasing resume will give good impression for the hiring manager to read it. Quality resume also helps to communicate the important features of the students as a potential employee in the company.
This event is planned on held on 1st April 2020 at 3.30pm – 5.30pm at Swinburne Sarawak Block G (G407). Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, Swinburne Sarawak is required to postpone all on-campus activities for two weeks. All classes are done online due to this pandemic. Therefore, the organising team planned to have this workshop online by getting the speaker’s permission.
The team has discussed with Dr Elaine Yeu to have this workshop during EAT 20008 Professional Experience in Engineering. This collaboration is to attract more students from the EAT 20008 program as the students are required to submit their resume and cover letter to the unit convenor as well as the selected company.
The workshop was conducted on 15 April 2020 at 4pm where the speaker is Mr Ryan Jee, founder of Jobstock. Live streaming was done on IEM-SSSS Facebook page when the workshop was conducted. This is to make sure all students could access the workshop on the platform that they are comfortable with.
