At Swinburne Sarawak, internships in bachelor’s degrees are a workplace experience in a field relating to your area of study, taken part-time, and taken in intensive mode over the six to eight weeks in Summer or Winter Term.  It is usually non-credit bearing unless it is related to work integrated learning placement units. Students are highly encouraged to be a part of an internship programme during your studies especially in your penultimate degree year.

In order to be eligible to apply for internship, student must have completed 12 units or 150 credit points at the time of application. Students would be expected to find your own internship host or internship opportunity at your own time and pace, and students are expected to adhere to the host organisation’s workplace policies and procedures.

Students are strongly encouraged to liaise further with the Employability team  to complete your internship application process.

Internship insurance

If you undertake an internship, you will be classified as a full-time student completing an academic program and you will be covered by Swinburne’s student internship insurance coverage.
