Health & Society
Medline
An important index of biomedical and life sciences information, Medline is the largest subset of PubMed. Searchable via Scopus and PubMed.
MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) is the NLM’s thesaurus of ontrolled vocabulary used for Medline articles via PubMed Watch this short video to find out how to use MeSH in PubMed to to find Medline articles NB. MeSH terms can only be searched as keywords in Scopus.
PubMed Provides access to over 11 million Medline citations back to the mid- 1960’s and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles, including PubMed Central, and other related resources.

Academic Search Complete on EbscohostA multidisciplinary database covering a range of subject areas including the sciences. Provides full text for more than 5000 journals, both scholarly and popular.
Scopus
One of the world’s largest abstract and indexing database. It has 100% Medline coverage and includes index and abstract data from Embase, covering thousands of biomedical journals. It also includes the journals indexed by ScienceDirect.
Science Direct is a full text science database with a strong coverage of biomedical science journals. Also includes Embase: A bibliographic database of medical and health research with coverage from 1974 to the present with considerable content not available in Medline. NB. MeSH terms can only be searched as keywords in Scopus.
Evidence Based Practice
Cochrane LibraryHigh-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decisionmaking. Under the terms of the licence, this database is only available to people physically located in Australia.
