Enrol at one of Malaysia’s Top 10 Preferred Private Universities this March

KUCHING – SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level, and UEC school-leavers are eligible to study for free for two weeks when they apply for the upcoming Swinburne’s March 2021 intake.

The Start With Zero Fees Programme provides opportunity for domestic students to attend a two-week free trial classes online, allowing them to adapt and experience the university’s teaching and learning style. With almost a decade of experience in online learning, Swinburne students study in two different modes that include live lecture sessions, tutorials or forums (Synchronous mode), and recorded lecture or pre-recorded video (Asynchronous mode).

Swinburne’s Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, and Faculty of Business, Design and Arts offer Bachelor degree courses that are accredited and recognised by professional bodies. With course curriculum and assessments that are equivalent and aligned to identical learning outcomes at the Melbourne campus, students at the Sarawak campus receive the same Australian education and are awarded qualifications directly by the mother campus upon graduation.

Among the undergraduate programmes offered at Swinburne Sarawak are Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Robotics and Mechatronics, and Electrical and Electronic; as well as Bachelor of Computer Science with a major in Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Software Development, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence (AI); and Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology with a major in Network Technology, and Software Technology.

Other programme offerings are Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Environmental Science; Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design) and Bachelor of Design with a major in Graphic Design; as well as Bachelor of Business in Accounting, Finance, Accounting and Finance, International Business, Management, Management and Digital Media, Marketing, and Human Resource Management.

Swinburne also offers double degree for students who are keen to broaden their study experience. The courses are Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) / Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical) / Bachelor of Business, and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Robotics and Mechatronics) / Bachelor of Computer Science.

Among the many advantages of pursuing a double degree are the opportunity to increase job prospects where a graduate will enter the job market with competencies in more than one area, change or shift career, expand network, and work across multiple disciplines and industries with greater flexibility.

Students that meet the academic requirements are automatically eligible to apply for scholarship or bursary offered by the State government or government-linked agencies such as Yayasan Sarawak, PTPTN and MARA, or private and charitable bodies.

Swinburne is one of the world’s top 400 universities and is ranked among the best universities in the world in 12 subject areas by QS University Rankings 2021. In addition, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings placed Swinburne in the top 200 for Engineering and Technology (2021) and top 300 for Computer Science (2020).

Recognised as one of Malaysia’s Top 10 Preferred Private Universities by JobStreet.com, Swinburne has delivered 20 solid years of quality Australian education at affordable cost to Sarawakians in particular and non-Sarawakians. Known as the university that knows technology, Swinburne’s experiential learning opportunities comprising industry and accreditation placements; industry-linked projects; internship; as well as other immersive learning experience prepare the future workforce for IR4.0.
