Stand a chance to score a full scholarship at Swinburne Sarawak’s Info Days

KUCHING – Students who are ready to embark on their university journey will have a chance to explore all that Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has to offer during its upcoming Info Days on 27 August and 3 September.

Both events will be held at Swinburne Sarawak Campus from 10am to 4pm. Members of the public, especially SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC school-leavers, are encouraged to visit and gain first-hand information on obtaining a world-class Australian education closer to home for a fraction of the cost.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to discover a course they are passionate about by chatting one-on-one with academic experts from Swinburne Sarawak’s Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science; Faculty of Business, Design and Arts; and School of Foundation Studies as well as education counsellors. They can learn about the university’s latest courses, namely the Diploma of Accountancy, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Software), Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Honours), Bachelor of Media and Communication and Master of Information Technology.

Aside from exploring the wide variety of courses offered by the university, visitors can also find out about the numerous scholarships, bursaries and financial aid available. Yayasan Sarawak will be present to offer advice and counselling on financial assistance.

At Swinburne Sarawak, various scholarships and bursaries are offered for foundation, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, making it more affordable for students to pursue their studies. Eligible top-performing students who enrol in an undergraduate programme could even be awarded the Pro-Chancellor Excellence Full Scholarship, through which they can enjoy a 100% fee waiver.

Swinburne Sarawak, in collaboration with Yayasan Sarawak, also offers the Yayasan Sarawak BP40 Bursary Scheme. This special bursary scheme for eligible Sarawakian Bumiputera students allows them to enrol in their preferred programmes at foundation, diploma or degree levels with subsidised tuition fees. For students under the BP40 scheme, the total tuition fees throughout the duration of their studies at Swinburne Sarawak are as low as tuition fees at any public universities (IPTA) in Malaysia.

There are many other scholarships offered by Swinburne Sarawak, including the PVC Academic Excellence Scholarship, Diploma Entrance Bursary, UEC Academic Excellence Scholarship, Academic Progression Scholarship, Emerging Technology Award and so on.

The university’s Study Now Pay Later (SNPL) scheme is also available for new commencing domestic students, allowing them to adapt to studying at the university without the initial financial commitment. Students can select one of two options: six weeks of free trial classes followed by an Interest-Free Easy Payment Plan involving instalment payments, or two weeks of trial classes followed by a Full-Term Payment Plan.

During the Info Day events, prospective students can score exclusive Swinburne merchandise and even stand a chance to win the grand prize worth up to RM500. Visitors also have the opportunity to take part in guided campus tours and get a feel of life as a Swinburne Sarawak student. They will be able to explore the university’s modern facilities and catch a glimpse of the highly anticipated campus upgrades being implemented to provide a state-of-the-art teaching and learning environment for students.

Swinburne Sarawak will be accepting on-the-spot applications on Info Day and eligible students applying for admission will receive their Letter of Offer on the same day. Prospective students are advised to prepare a copy of the following documents in PDF form saved in a USB: identification card (Malaysian students) or passport (international students), academic transcripts and certificates as well as English language proficiency test results (MUET, IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent qualification).
