Swinburne Sarawak and Oracle University collaborate to enhance student employability

KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has taken a significant step towards boosting student employability by collaborating with Oracle University, the cloud technology company’s comprehensive portfolio of training, certification and digital adoption solutions.

This collaboration aims to equip students with cutting-edge digital skills, enabling them to meet the ever-evolving demands of the digital economy and thrive in a tech-driven workforce. It is designed to offer students from various disciplines access to business process training for Oracle Cloud Applications. Through this initiative, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how and why end-to-end business process flows are implemented by organisations.

Oracle’s cloud technology is widely used across industries, making this collaboration particularly valuable for students aspiring to enter sectors such as technology, finance, healthcare and beyond. By deep diving into Oracle’s products and offerings, students can bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications, preparing them to be job-ready upon graduation.

At Swinburne Sarawak, plans are underway to roll out this innovative collaboration, beginning with students majoring in Accounting as well as Accounting and Finance. This curriculum expansion offers students a unique advantage by exposing them to Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) as a start, allowing them to develop essential skills in financial management, cloud accounting and ERP systems.

By integrating Oracle’s products and offerings into Swinburne Sarawak’s Accounting as well as Accounting and Finance programs, students can gain a deeper understanding of how technology drives financial decisions in today’s business environment. They will learn to navigate Oracle’s systems, which are widely adopted in corporate settings, making them more competitive in the job market.

Upon successful completion of each module, students will obtain a digital badge, allowing them to display their accomplishments on professional platforms, including LinkedIn and other social media platforms. For students seeking further recognition, the completion of all modules within a specific domain opens the door to enrolling and attaining an official certification from Oracle University.

This collaboration is part of Swinburne University of Technology’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with industry partners and ensure that its graduates are equipped with relevant, future-ready skills. By fostering these collaborations, Swinburne continues to position itself as a leader in employability-focused education, aligning its academic offerings with the needs of the modern workforce.

This initiative reflects Swinburne’s commitment to providing students with practical experience, ensuring that they not only gain theoretical knowledge but also the hands-on expertise that employers seek. For students at Swinburne Sarawak, particularly those pursuing careers in accounting and finance, this collaboration opens doors to enhanced career opportunities both locally and internationally.
