Biography

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Mirza bin Julaihi obtained his Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering in 2008 at International Islamic University Malaysia, Master of Engineering in 2012, and Doctor of Philosophy in Quantum Science and Engineering in 2015 at Hokkaido University, Japan.

His Ph.D. dissertation topic was on the photocatalytic effect of stainless steel nanoparticles on water-borne textile dye. During his graduate studies he also worked as a research assistant for the Hitachi Research Laboratory in Tsukuba, Japan. He joined Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing, and Science in August 2016.

His research interests include optimization of metallic nanomaterials production using solution plasma, fabrication of functional devices from nanomaterials, and development of self-cleaning coatings.
