Dr. Yusak Hartanto obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering in 2012 and Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering in 2016 from the University of Adelaide, Australia. His PhD topic was on the development of thermoresponsive microgels forward osmosis membrane process. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Membrane Technology Group at KU Leuven between 2018 and 2020. He, then, worked as a post-doctoral fellow at UC Louvain between 2020 – 2024 and was awarded the Chargé de Recherche fellowship from Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS) to conduct research on biocatalytic membrane for carbon capture process. He joined Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing, and Science in April 2025. His research interests include membrane technology, water treatment, enzyme technology, biofuel production and electrocatalysis.
