The Diploma of Early Childhood Education provides you with the understanding of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to nurture young children’s physical, cognitive and social-emotional developments. The program equips you with soft skills needed to adapt to the everchanging world, as well as pedagogy of care and compassion.

The guaranteed 6-weeks practicum placement at early childhood establishments further empowers you to be the voice for children and early childhood education profession.

Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to be professional and to be employed in early childhood education settings. This will also be a pathway to undergraduate education degrees.

To qualify for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education, students must complete 225 credit points comprising:

  • 4 core units of study (50 credit points)
  • 14 specialisation units (175 credit points)

Entry Requirements

  • A Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with minimum 3 Credits in any subject, or
  • A Pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP2.0) in any subject, or
  • A pass in SKM Level 3 in Early Child Care/Preschool and pass SPM with a minimum of 1 credit in any subject; or
  • A certificate in any field or its equivalent.
