School of ICT (SoICT) had the privilege of organising a data science webinar titled “Transforming Data in Value” on 11th July 2020 (2-3pm). The webinar saw an overall participation of over 80 people and was held via ZOOM. Dr. Valliappan Raman, Deputy Head of School for SoICT started of the webinar by introducing to participants the necessary skills need to enter into Data Science and the courses in Swinburne that equip students to have an impactful career in Data Science. This was followed by Ms Fu Swee Tee who introduced the topic of data science and the jobs available in the market today. Next Dr, Joel Than shared on the real-world applications of data science. Finally, Dr Vong WanTze enlightened participants on how data science is changing the world and it global acceptance.
