In Swinburne Sarawak, students can normally embark on a new Industrial based program term during their semester break around January or July each year.
One of the recent Industrial Training opportunities has been provided by our industry partners, X-Fab, the Semiconductor Company at Kuching to Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) students. The Industrial Training provides a good opportunity to Mechanical Engineering students to gain valuable industrial experience in such a renowned multinational company. It is a platform for our students to prove their worthiness in a real-life workplace. The students can gain experiences related to Data analysis and verification, optimize loading planning to reduce variability, Fab & sub-fab layout verification through the 6-month duration industrial training programs.
Currently, there is another new internship offered by X-Fab to the Final-year students, who already completed the industrial training previously to grab the new opportunity in enhancing the career profile. The industrial training offered by X-Fab with the duration of either 12 weeks or 6 months (negotiable) for Swinburne’s students will start in June or July (after semester 1 of 2019). The work will involve simulation, stress analysis, and review of literature of semiconductor materials. This provide students the opportunity to learn or work closely with a Principle Engineer in their research and development (R&D) unit.
Mechanical Engineering Final-years students who interested to X-Fab are encouraged to submit your application with CV and transcript to Discipline leader of Mechanical Engineering – Dr. Soon Kok Heng at khsoon@swinburne.edu.my
