Biography

LikFong Ting received her B.Sc.(Hons) in Chemistry and Education from Faculty of Science, University Technology Malaysia in 1999. She received her Master degree in Environmental Engineering from the same institution in 2001. Lik Fong joined the Faculty of Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus) (SUTS) as a Lecturer since 2011 as a lecturer. She teaches Chemistry 1, Water Science, Research Skills in Science for Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) program. Besides she is also teaching foundation chemistry for Foundation in Engineering and Science program. Prior joining Swinburne University, she taught Chemistry in various higher learning institutions in Miri and Kuala Lumpur.

Her research interests include characterization and identification of organic matter and other pollutants in water and wastewater treatment. She is also interested in teaching and learning research such as how to use inquiry-based and cooperative learning to improve critical thinking and problem solving skills among science students.
