A financial assistance to students of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, who are unable to meet immediate and essential expenses due to temporary hardships related to situations beyond their control. The fund is a one-off assistance, not intended to replace nor act as a supplement for financial aid. The fund is awarded in line as an endowment, and unlike a loan, does not require/need to be reimbursed.
Who is Eligible to Apply? To be eligible, the applicant should meet the following criteria:
- must be enrolled in Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus on a Full-Time basis or equivalent.
- must be physically in Kuching, Sarawak during the occurrence of this temporary financial hardship.
- must be able to provide sufficient documentation/evidence/proof (i.e. account statement, bank letter, newspaper on natural disaster) of temporary financial hardships.
- In the event of insufficient documents, Safer Community Officer will contact the student to address and require the missing documents or information.
- Student must respond to Safer Community within 5 working days after the contact with Safer Community Officer.
- Failure to respond and/or submit the documents or information needed within 5 working days after the contact with Safer Community Officer will result in the application to be rejected.
- Student will then need to apply for a new application.
- ensure all alternate avenues/resources had been exhausted and found to be unavailable.
- had not previously applied for SCF during his/her period of study.
- exceptions to the above requirements will be considered in a case-by-case scenario and as per reviewed and recommended by the Assistant Manager, Student Life for Registrar and Director, Student Engagement approval.

How to Apply?
The applicant must submit the completed SCF Online application form together with supporting documents within 3 working days of the accident/incident.
Safer Community will notify the applicant within 24 hours upon receiving the form.
